arrhythmias
An arrhythmia is a abnormal heart rhythm or abnormal heart rate. Normal heart rate for a typical adult is between 60 and 100 beats per minute. Occasionally, arrhythmias can be associated with symptoms such as palpitations, or an awareness of your heart beat, or shortness of breath, chest pain or lightheadedness.
A variety of testing options are available to determine if you are having an arrhythmia. Dr. Zurick and his team will be happy to discuss these options with you and determine what is the best test for you.
Several medications and procedures can be considered to treat an arrhythmia. Often this is done in conjunction with an electrophysiologist (EP). This is a cardiology physician that specializes in heart rhythm disorders. Dr. Zurick works with several highly respected and talented electrophysiologists and will be happy to coordinate your care with them.
